The French Lottery
Some Geography Surrounding The French Lottery
France is one of many countries located in Western Europe, but also includes many islands located in other countries or a different continent. This country extends to various bodies of water, including the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Many countries, including Belgium, Italy and Monaco border France, making it possible for various countries to participate in trades.
France is 213,010 square miles in area and includes a variety of landscapes. There are massive rivers, beautiful coastal plains, and even enormous mountains covering this country, not including the additional territories around the globe.
France owns almost half of the land on this planet, coming in at 260,558 square miles. This European country is home to almost 65 million people, with about 61 million living in the Metropolitan area.
King Francis created the first lottery in France in the early 1500s. When his attempt failed, all lotteries were forbidden in the country for almost 200 years.
The lottery surfaced again in the 1700s in Paris, with both public and private drawings. The public lottery was known as Loterie de L'Hotel de Ville, and came around in the late 1700s. Religious congregations depended on the French lottery in the 18th century, since lotteries helped to build churches in Paris. Once the lottery became large in France, the Church and monarchy fought for control of the lottery.
In the late 1700s, the monarchy created Loterie de L'École Militaire, which made enough to build an entire Military Academy. All other lotteries were forbidden, with the exception of a few private lotteries.
Currently, the French lottery is drawn twice a week, which is once more than back in the 1900s. The drawings occur on Wednesday and Saturday, which is the same as the United States lottery. The format of the French lottery is a random picking of numbers between 6 and 49, and then a bonus ball is also drawn. The French lottery offers many different games, and has currently expanded to allow Africa to be involved as well.
Like most other countries, the lottery is legalized by the government. Most of the jackpots range from $100,000 to $10 million, depending on how many people bought tickets for the drawing. Online lotteries are also available now, making it convenient for almost anyone to play in the French lottery without having to leave their home.
Although French lottery tickets are sold all over the country, playing from the comfort of your own home is better. The winnng numbers are picked at random like the regular French lottery, making it possible for anyone to win.
